Who should take this course?

Are you interested in experiencing the enchantment of the sea using only your fin kicks and a singlebreath? Then let SSI introduce you to the captivating wonder that only comes with FREEDIVING.

This program provides you with the training and knowledge required to safely freedive with a buddy in confined water environments to a depth of five meters. You will earn the SSI Basic Freediving certification after completing this program.

You must be at least 10 years old to enrol in this Freediving course. Adequate swimming skills are essential and you need to be in good health. No prior diving experience is required.

What will you learn?

Your digital learning will cover four main topics;

Your Freediving equipment
Physiology of Freediving.
Freediving skills
Freediving and the environment

In the classroom & poolside workshops you will become familiar with your equipment, practice static breath hold and equalization. You will learn breathing and breath recovery techniques as well review the digital learning topics to consolidate your understanding. We will then put everything you learned into practice in a confined Water Training session in a private heated indoor pool.

What gear will you use?

You will need your own freediving equipment including, mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit and a weight system. However we can supply some equipment (excluding the wetsuit) if you don’t have your own.
