WHO CAN TAKE THE COURSE

If you are looking for underwater adventure then SSI Try Scuba is the best way to begin. After completing this mini course you will earn the SSI Try Scuba recognition card, the first step towards becoming a certified scuba diver. You must be 12 years old, have adequate swimming skills and be generally fit and healthy.  No prior scuba experience is required.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

Your first experience of breathing underwater with scuba consists of two main components:

1. Online Knowledge Development – to understand the fundamental principles of scuba diving, using either the MYSSI App or online at diveSSI.com
2. Confined Water Practical Training session – in a private heated indoor pool to learn the key scuba skills and have some fun                 

WHAT SCUBA GEAR WILL I USE

You will learn to use the basic scuba gear including a regulator, buoyancy control device, a weight system, a tank, mask, snorkel and fins. All you need to bring is your swimsuit and towel.  The pool is heated so you don’t need a wetsuit but feel free to bring your steamer or shorty if you feel the cold.

HOW CAN YOU START LEARNING

1. Download the latest version of the MySSI App for Android or IOS or go online and visit divessi.com
2. Sign up with SSI and set up your personal profile
3. Once signed up you will have FREE ACCESS to several introductory programs including Try Scuba, Basic Freediving & Snorkelling
4. Download the course material directly to your smart device enabling you unlimited access, even without an internet connection
5. Come in to the Dive Centre and register for the InWater sessions.  Booking is essential.
